Weekend in Vail

We had a real fun weekend in Vail last week. Spencer finally used his baby backpack - a gift from Uncle Stuey and Aunt Lindsay (thanks again guys) which we knew he loved because he giggled the whole time he bounced around in it. A friend of mine let us use his condo right in Vail village so we wandered around the village, drank lots of coffee, ate well, drank some wine on the patio overlooking the mountains and hiked a little. Spencer didn't sleep great up at altitude so we especially needed that coffee!

My friend Rachel moved up to Vail last year and we met up with her for breakfast after she raced in a trail run. Rachel is super speedy and typically comes in the top few finishers of races (including marathons such as Boston, where we all impressively watched her on the internet finish in 3 hours...crazy!!).

The Teva games - extreme sports such as kayaking, crazy mountian biking courses, etc - took place last weekend while we stayed in Vail...Jon is not the biker and kayaker above...they're a few random competitors that I photographed.

Spencer is 9-1/2 months now and we spend a good part of our time chasing him around the house. He now crawls real efficiently and fast and loves getting into Barkley's water bowl for a swim.

We are excited to celebrate Jon's first father's day tomorrow. What a fun weekend...which started yesterday for me when I got to play golf at the air force academy...the new head of our sales and trading desk gets a few tee times each year. Last year I was about 8 months pregnant when I played but I never want to turn down the opportunity to play at the academy...it's a beautiful course and fun to play with co-workers. Lucky for me that I work in an industry that considers golf part of the work agenda...I managed to squeeze in a few really fun outings this year through work related activities.

The weather here has been beautiful and we are excited this weekend to take out our new Burley...an attachment to our bike that lets us tote Spency around...he absolutely loves it. The outdoor pools opened up last week and we may take the little guy for a swim. Tonight we are going to have a few neighbors over...the little girl behind us is four days younger than Spencer and we have lots of families around us with little kiddos that we enjoy spending time with (several of who we invited ourselves over for dinner when we didn't have a kitchen...now we are repaying favors!).

Have a great weekend!
